Auditions
Cantemus
has openings for experienced singers in all voice parts.
Auditions are held twice a year by appointment. The next
auditions will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2011.
Auditionees
should be prepared for sight-reading, aural memory tests,
vocal warm-ups and to sing “My Country ‘tis
of Thee. Previous choral/vocal experience is recommended
in order to audition: solid vocal quality, sight reading
skills, aural memory, and rhythmic understanding are
emphasized. Auditioning singer may bring a short prepared
solo, but this is not required.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals
take place at Miles River Middle School in Hamilton every
Tuesday from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. Additional rehearsals may
be scheduled, if required.
To
maintain the quality of performance for which Cantemus is
known, singers are expected to attend every rehearsal and
be punctual. A maximum of three missed rehearsals per semester
will be excused.
Concert
Attendance
Singers
are expected to attend all concerts and dress rehearsals on
the season's schedule. Cantemus is a small chamber chorus;
one singer's absence will significantly change the group's
balance and tone.
